202 The Crone: Physical And Spiritual Given By PANITEOWL |
|
<Paniteowl> Now, the Crone stage is equivalent to the Sage stage .. each one is unavoidable, unless you die <G> <Paniteowl> How you "Crone" or "Sage" is up to the individual, as is WHEN you reach that stage <Paniteowl> some will not reach the stage without kicking and screaming <VBEG> <Paniteowl> Some walk into it unexpectedly <G> <Paniteowl> and some are born with full awarness of the Crone/Sage aspect being a part of their lives. <Paniteowl> Some Craft traditions put a specific year at which one attains cronehood .. usually age 55 .. <Paniteowl> I personally don't hold with that .. <Paniteowl> it is too restrictive, and only serves a purpose if you are encouraging someone to "feel" their age <G> IMHO <Paniteowl> yet as a guide, it helps to trigger awareness of the Crone/Sage aspects being a viable part of the Craft. <Paniteowl> As to the physical aspects .. NO .. it is NOT dependent upon menopause <G> *** Arcadia (Raavin@spc-isp-lon-uas-03-2.sprint.ca) has joined #zodiacbistro <Paniteowl> (((((((((((ARC)))))))))) <Paniteowl> Croning has nothing to do with ones ability to bear children. <Arcadia> {{{{{Owl}}}}}}} sorry I'm late *** melilot sets mode: +o Arcadia *** RedDeer (RedDeer@ip70.triangle-park2.nc.pub-ip.psi.net) has left #zodiacbistro <Paniteowl> But I do feel that certain signs of "limiting" abilities tends to make one aware of the passage of time <G> *** RedDeer (RedDeer@ip70.triangle-park2.nc.pub-ip.psi.net) has joined #zodiacbistro <Paniteowl> When you look at yourself as the survivor or the elder of your specific circle of family and friends, it tends to be a sobering time in your life <G> <Paniteowl> For some .. avoiding the sober aspect becomes paramount <G> *** melilot sets mode: +o RedDeer <Paniteowl> For some, "sobering" becomes "somber" .. and they feel that joy, and sex, and frivolity are a thing of their past .. NOT SO!! <Paniteowl> Everyone with me so far?? <Mistletoe> aye aye <AZEROTH> yup <melilot> nope <EG> <RedDeer> sex should only be a thing of one's past (and future) when on the other side of the veil! <RedDeer> yup <boudica> yup <Paniteowl> Heheheh ... You got that right!!! <AZEROTH> lol * melilot makes note to put veils around bed <Paniteowl> Natural evolution tells you that you're body changes .. with all of environmental and cultural and genetic influences <Arcadia> lol <Paniteowl> This IS NOT A BAD THING!! IT IS NATURAL!!! .. <Paniteowl> It means we have survived, and we have accumulated some awareness (hopefully), and that we can now do things which were limited because of other life committments <Paniteowl> Finding the value, and worth, of Crone/Sage stage is something our society needs to encourage and understand. <Paniteowl> As members of the various Craft Societies, we can bring this awareness and encouragement to the community. <Paniteowl> Now, one thing that crops up occasionally, is the fourth aspect of the triple aspects. <Paniteowl> There is, and will always be, the warrior aspect of both the Crone and Sage <melilot> nawwwwwwwwww i've never seen anything like that in a crone <EG> <Paniteowl> the same as the inherent warrior aspect of Maiden, Mother, Son and Father. <Paniteowl> Heheheheh .. Me Neither <wide eyed innocent look) <Paniteowl> Crone and Sage are NOT powerless <G> .. in fact, there is actually more concentrated abilities because of their freedom from parenting responsibilities <Paniteowl> This stage returns to the "selfish" cycle, much the same as the Maiden/Son stage. <Paniteowl> Does anyone have any questions??/ Or disagree with that statement? <RedDeer> only semantically, PA * melilot slaps RedDeer around a bit with a large frozen trouser trout <Paniteowl> Heheheh .. why am I not surprised?? <G> <melilot> NO semantic's meli HATES semantic's <RedDeer> I personally don't see warrior as a fourth aspect, as it's inherent in each - maiden/mother/crone and son/father/sage each have their nurturing and warrior sides * Mistletoe chides melilot for her anti-semanticism <melilot> LOL mist <Paniteowl> Uh .. yep, RD .. that's what I said <G> .. the fouth aspect is talked about, but it is an inherent part of each <Paniteowl> It is separate from, but within each, as a constant <melilot> so it's not an aspect but a personality quirk? <RedDeer> not a quirk, an integrated part of the personality... <Paniteowl> hehehe .. yep .. quirky warriors, that's us <G> <AZEROTH> lol <Paniteowl> LOL .. given the people here .. that's quirky, RD <G> <melilot> but my personalityis quirky therefore it's a quirk <melilot> semantics don't ya know <EG> <Paniteowl> but society calls it "youthful exhuberence" in the youth aspect .. and senility in the Crone/Sage <G> <RedDeer> in the male, society (or at least females) calls it testosterone regardless of age <Paniteowl> While it is part of the aspect of youth which is expected .. in the Crone/Sage, it is surprising <G> <melilot> that's cause crone/sage forget they are suppose to act OLD <G> <Paniteowl> surprising to everyone BUT the Crones and Sages <G> <Paniteowl> LOL <Paniteowl> Hmmmm .. ya gonna try and remind me Meli ?? Hmmm??? VBEG * melilot don't know how to act old so how she gonna remind anyone <Paniteowl> ROFL <Paniteowl> OK, now for the "spiritual" aspect of Crone/Sage * melilot gets very serious and respectful <Paniteowl> I can only speak from experience <Paniteowl> When I first became "Aware" of Hecate .. I did NOT much care for her aspect <Paniteowl> In fact, she scared the heck outta me <Paniteowl> Yet she kept popping up in my life, until I finally had to go looking for more information about her <Paniteowl> During the search, I also met Sekmet and Kali .. <Paniteowl> both of whom I thoroughly rejected!! .. HAH <Paniteowl> yet as I came to know and understand their aspects, I found much to admire and accept <Paniteowl> There is a sternness, and an uncompromising surety <Paniteowl> There is an inevitability, and a "Know-it-all" aspect, which was uncomfortable to me <Paniteowl> There was a perverse strenght, and judgement <Paniteowl> and there was their involvement in the death process which was not something I wanted to face. <Paniteowl> As I learned about these aspects, I also found their humor, and compassion <Paniteowl> I found their nurturing, in a "tough love" sense <Paniteowl> I found their perverse pleasure in human foibles <Paniteowl> and they taught me to laugh at myself .. to not take things as seriously as I once did <Paniteowl> and they taught me to survive <Paniteowl> Is this a spiritual awakening??? .. Well, for me, it was. <Paniteowl> But it was not easy understanding them .. it took time .. and I'm still working on it <Paniteowl> For what I learned was that with the Crone/Sage aspect came more responsibility along with more freedom <Paniteowl> Not because I "Have to" do some things, but because I can no longer ignore some things I feel I should be doing <Paniteowl> In talking with other Crones and Sages, this is a common phenomenon <Paniteowl> So .. that's my talk for the evening <G> .. Now, if anyone has any questions ..??? <Mistletoe> how did you notice the presence of Hecate? <melilot> and what was she wearing <melilot> shield and sword? <melilot> or granny dress and caudron? <Paniteowl> I was aware of her presence for many years .. and I didn't like her. So I avoided her * AZEROTH slaps Arcadia around a bit with a large frozen trouser trout * AZEROTH slaps melilot around a bit with a large frozen trouser trout <AZEROTH> sorry arc <Paniteowl> <G> .. She was a fearsome figure, with shrouds <G> <Mistletoe> when you say you were aware...can you explain <Mistletoe> was she in your dreams? <Mistletoe> how did she manifest herself? <Paniteowl> When I began to view death as a natural process, and in some cases, a blessing, the aspect of Hecate took on new meaning for me. <melilot> bad otto i was serious <Mistletoe> I see <AZEROTH> :( <Mistletoe> I understand now <melilot> can the crone aspect be trigger by a taumatic experence in ones life <Paniteowl> Hmmm .. how to explain ... I see her as a memory of a real person .. kind of like a genetic memory, Mist <Paniteowl> Yes, Mel .. I think it happens that way for many people <melilot> well it sucks <G> <Paniteowl> There is a point in everyone's life when they "try on" their own death <Paniteowl> when they actually accept the fact that it is gonna happen <Paniteowl> Heheheh .. yeah, it does suck at first .. and then .. ya get over it <G> .. <Paniteowl> because your focus becomes very strong on the time you have here now <melilot> sort of like i only have so much time to get this done <Paniteowl> And you start to define your beliefs as to "what will I be, when I'm no longer the who I am now?" <Paniteowl> It goes beyond that Mel .. it forces you to look at what lied beyond the veil .. <G> <RedDeer> one's death should be one's friend and advisor... 'tis the only companion one has from birth to grave <Paniteowl> For those who are afraid of that, it becomes threatening and limiting .. for those who see the infinite possibilities, it's like waiting for that special vacation *** sandra (palmer@regnsk01d05130145.sk.sympatico.ca) has joined #zodiacbistro <melilot> beyond the veil is a wonderful grove where it is always summer and it's always like gathering <G> <Paniteowl> Yes, RD .. that's a good way of putting it ... I feel that Hecate is a personal companion of mine now, and in knowing her, I can also understand and admire Sekmet and Kali <boudica> mm sandra <Paniteowl> I'm counting on that Meli <G> .. I can "see" summerland .. it looks a lot like Pinchot Park <G> <RedDeer> there is an old Yaqui who teaches the one's death is ever three paces behind and to the left <melilot> beyond the veil is pure AMOK <melilot> LOL don't it though PA <G> <Paniteowl> LOL <AZEROTH> <g> <boudica> 8-) <Paniteowl> Yep Meli .. it's an adventure, and If life shows us glimpses of how it can be, I will be more than satisfied if it comes close to Pinchot <G> <Mistletoe> what is Pinchot Park? <RedDeer> Winter and all PA? <Arcadia> it was the birth of a family Mist <Paniteowl> Winter and ALL, RD <G> ... You'll understand when you see the Mountain <G> <Mistletoe> is Pinchot Park what you have named your mountain Paniteowl? <melilot> well it's the summerlands so it's like no winter it's only summer cause when it's time for it to be winter it's time to return to your next life <melilot> meli logic <Paniteowl> Yes Arc .. and somehow I think it was a rejoining of a family <G> ... it was time for us all to find each other again <G> <melilot> no mist pinchot park is where the first AMOK gathering was held it's a state park in PA <Paniteowl> LOL <Mistletoe> oh <Paniteowl> Mist .. I can only give you perspectives based on my personal interpretations of how I came to be aware of my Dieties. <Mistletoe> I see P <Paniteowl> To explain, I have to use the familiar places and happenings in my life. <Paniteowl> I don't see the aspects of Diety as EXTRAORDINARILY unfamiliar .. I see them within my everyday life <Paniteowl> And I know they are there, and impacting on my life, by bringing my attention to focus on those everyday things which are indeed extraordinary <G> <Paniteowl> <G> .. Just like the extraordinary people it has been my pleasure and privelage to meet <G> right here in this room <G> <Paniteowl> Ummm .. do you all know how much you mean to me?? And to Will? * melilot just figured out she don't hae to worry bout cronage for a long long time <Paniteowl> Oh sheesh .. I'm getting sloppy <G> <boudica> probably as much as you mean to us <Mistletoe> {{{{{{{{{Paniteowl}}}}}}}} <AZEROTH> lo tis ok PA <Mistletoe> {{{{{{{{Pamountain}}}}}}}}}} * AZEROTH gives roomies big HUG <Paniteowl> Hehehe .. you just worry about THIS Crone Meli <G> that's enough for now <G> * AZEROTH plants a big wet one on Paniteowl * melilot {{{{{{{{{{{ Paniteowl }}}}}}}}}}} <melilot> now don't go getting all sloppy on us pa <Paniteowl> ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS TO ALL AMOKS)))))))))))))))) |
